How you'll make a difference:
As an Assistant Commissioning Officer, you will broker placements and packages of care for children and young people living in South Gloucestershire. Working closely with social care colleagues and providers, you will maintain records which improve the provision of these services.
You will be working within the Children’s Commissioning and Placement team, who have a specific responsibility for the procurement and commissioning of a range of services for children and young people, including those corporately parented by South Gloucestershire Council.
What you will be doing:
- It will be your responsibility to co-ordinate and administer the start of the service. Liaising with care providers, you will secure the most appropriate placements for children and young people which are a best and most cost-effective match.
- As required, you will implement contracts, process invoices and contribute to project planning, partnership working and the development of commissioning plans.
- Regularly, you will work in co-production with colleagues, partners and people who use services and carers to ensure the services we commission meet outcomes.
- Supporting commissioning officers and managers with the wider partnership, you will work to support children, young people and their families.
What we need from you:
- We require you to have relevant knowledge and experience of working in an organisation that commissions and contracts in social care or similar services and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to working across different areas.
- Given the nature of this role, you will need strong interpersonal skills to establish a positive relationship with a wide variety of stakeholders, contacts and customers.
- You will be well organised with excellent time management skills and able to manage competing demands.
- Desirably, you’ll have a level 3 qualification ideally in social care, health care or business studies.
- This is a part-time role, working 18.5 hours per week. Your salary is pro-rata to hours worked.
- This is a limited term contract until 31/12/2025.
- We are also offering this as an internal secondment opportunity, you should first seek your line managers permission before applying.
- This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home.
