The Housekeeping Team interact with all departments, participants, visiting companies and audiences with the knowledge and confidence to answer queries about our cleaning practices, reassuring people about the measures in place to keep them safe.
This complements the critical activity of cleaning our spaces to continually maintain the highest standards of care.
Successful candidates will be required to work a 40-hours a week to support the TRP’s Rear of House operation (ROH) and the Front of House (FOH) opening and programme, in addition to our second site TR2. Working patterns may vary depending on the performances across our three stages and two sites and therefore may require an adjustment to the standard weekly pattern.We require flexibility across the team to ensure we support the TRP programme, this will include a Saturday or Sunday shift (if the Theatre is open) and weekday shifts on a rota basis.
We are looking for candidates with Supervisory/Lower Managerial experience and whilst housekeeping and cleaning experience is desirable it is not essential as training will be provided.
The Role
Here is an overview of the duties:
Monitor performance data, based on the programme on our stages, to plan resources and materials required to meet operational requirements.
Supervise the Housekeeping Team and maintain a strong working relationship with the Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Team, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and implementation of best practice.
Provide excellent customer service to our patrons and performers, including VIP and other special requirements.
Identify ways to improve patron satisfaction.
Adhere to Health & Safety policy, ensuring that all staff have been trained in the related RAMS, manual handling and COSHH.
Ensure that all appliances and storage areas are safe in accordance with regulations.
Recruit, train, manage and monitor team performance daily/weekly.
Manage cleaning stock control and the maintenance of cleaning equipment efficiently.
Perform routine inspections of all dressing rooms and spot checks of all Front of House areas.
Monitor timesheet submission to ensure budgets are adhered to.
Supervise and participate in deep cleaning schedules or specialist cleaning methods that will be applied to auditoriums and any other nominated areas.
Supervise the Housekeeping Team and participate in rear of house routines that complement and support the work of visiting companies as agreed with the Housekeeping Manager.
Organise and complete waste collection adhering to recycling and green policies.Maintain cleanliness of all key external areas that are part of the arrival and welcome of visitors e.g., outside main entrance, Stage Door and emergency exits including stage dock external areas.
Use of TRP IT software packages or systems including Microsoft Office for e-mails, diary, rotas, cleaning schedules, standards & guides, audits, checklists and electronic recording of completed duties.
Support and contribute to any initiatives that helps TRP achieve a recognised quality accreditation for the highest quality of cleaning being offered to our visitors.
Provide a welcoming and accessible environment as you work across the Estate ensuring that TRP core values and behaviours are demonstrated.
Report any defects with the building and its facilities in a timely manner.
