Art & Design Technology Technician
We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide support to the Art, Food Technology, Textiles and Engineering departments and students at The Stonehenge School. The successful candidate will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning.
This position requires you to be a good team player and give appropriate support for students’ learning. You will be required to help maintain orderly workshop areas, keeping them in a safe and tidy condition ready for use, in accordance with the required standards
The role of a technician includes but is not limited to the following:
- Preparation of materials (paper, card, clay, metal, wood, cooking ingredients and other relevant materials) for classes of students.
- Support with setting up equipment and machinery for lessons as required, and be able to determine any technical difficulties with activities and give advice to the teachers.
- Read project details as supplied by the teachers and prepare materials and ingredients to allow students to undertake construction.
- To work alongside teachers in supporting the designing and making of products for demonstrations / exemplar in lessons, as well as provide technical support to the department.
- To assist in obtaining quotations and ordering materials as required by the department.
- To ensure a high standard of safety and cleanliness is maintained in all teaching areas within the department.
- To help safely control and store all chemicals and flammables used in workshop areas and to ensure that current Health & Safety and COSHH regulations are adhered to.
To actively engage in our current creative network and support visits and exhibitions. To assist in the organisation and preparation of displays for open evenings and other school events within the Technology areas

20 Hours per week, term time only (this includes TD Days).
Working days - Monday – Friday 10.00am – 2.00pm
(Flexibility around working hours can be discussed with the right candidate)
Wiltshire Council pay Grade E Point 6 – 8, (£13.05 - £13.47 per hour) actual salary £11,708- £12,084 per annum.
