- Theatre Health Care Assistant plays an important role in supporting patients and members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Whilst supervised by qualified staff, the healthcare assistant role is invaluable in providing timely, safe and high quality care to patients within an operating theatre.
- We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated staff, preferably with operating theatre experience or exposure , who can develop additional skills to support the interesting and exciting Trauma and Orthopaedics/Major Trauma services.
- The Healthcare Assistant role in theatres is somewhat different to the role in other clinical areas and involves supporting the qualified staff with day to day running of theatres and crucial to the delivery of high standards of care to all patients at all times.
- The post holder will be expected to work weekends and nights to cover the services that we provide.

- We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated staff, preferably with operating theatre experience or exposure , who can develop additional skills to support the interesting and exciting cardiothoracic specialty .
- conducting theatre checks before the beginning of the operating list,
- assisting with patient positioning, cleaning and checking equipment,
- completing accurate documentation,
- stocking up theatres, implant check, loan kit management
- setting up for the next day cases and assisting registered practitioners inside the operating theatre.
- Regular meetings with mentor/Team Leader
- Protected teaching time
- Competency based in house training
You will already have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and are happy to work in a busy theatre environment.
