An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Ardenleigh Women's Secure Blended Service team. The successful applicant will join an already established Occupational Therapy Service, which aims to provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation to our service users with complex needs.

This job offers the opportunity to:

  • To take referrals from the Occupational Therapists to deliver individually planned occupation focussed programmes and groups to support service users with complex needs to move successfully though their care journey. Treatment focusses on the development of skills and knowledge to increase overall functioning and quality of life.
  • Enhance skills in various specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions. This will be goal orientated, focussed on developing positive routines, addressing difficulties with motivation, and looking to support individuals in developing self-management skills and strategies to maximise independence.

  • To empower and enable individuals to access community resources which support their social, employment, educational and recreational needs and goals.

Under the supervision of Occupational Therapists, the post holder will be expected to:

  • To hold a small case load of individual referrals for treatment that support service users to engage in their recovery.
  • To co-facilitate planned therapy programmes that aim to improve communication, cognitive and life skills.
  • To ensure that service users’ views are represented in the delivery of therapies in line with the clinics recovery focussed strategy.
  • To support service users to transfer their skills into a community setting.
  • To contribute to assessments through observation, communication and accurate record keeping.
  • To maintain accurate clinical records and appropriate data.
  • To promote OT services and support visitors to the department.
  • To contribute to their own personal development through the Trust ADR process and have a positive attitude towards supervision.
