An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Practice Educator/Facilitator within the Medical division

We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent and committed registered nurse with NMC registration and with a desire to improve practice and knowledge . We offer a supportive, friendly, and caring environment and an abundance of development opportunities .

The post holder will be responsible for continuing educational professional development within General Specialist Medicine and any other Trust site as required.

Main duties of the job

Support the clinical development of registered nurses and HCSW along side the Ward Managers to complete competencies .

Support nursing induction alongside the Corporate team and facilitate its delivery and evaluation.

Work closely with Ward Mangers to support and develop staff within the Division.

Function as a practicing professional working directly alongside the registered nurses and HCSW in clinical practice .

To undertake competency assessment of Nursing staff in practice as required

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NMC registration
  • Specialist professional knowledge
Desirable criteria
  • PGCert in Education

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience at Band 6 with keen interest in Education
  • Evidence of teaching/facilitating group and individual learner
  • Able to work independently, manage own workload
  • Evidence of leading on change management/Harms Free care
Desirable criteria
  • Experience within a clinical teaching role
  • Underpinned by theory acquired through CPD

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of healthcare provision, together with awareness and appreciation of current NHS policy and priorities

Skills

Essential criteria
  • You can communicate effectively to ensure high standards of care, treatment, service or support as appropriate to your role
  • Able to teach/facilitate learning in the both classroom and clinical environments
  • Able to assess competence and level of understanding
