Your new role:
We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join the Resource, Pay & Conditions Team on a part time (25 hours) and temporary basis (until 31 July 2025 with possibility of being extended). As a HR consultant, you will support in the provision of a high quality and efficient Resourcing, Pay & Conditions service to all departments within the Council and external customers who contract the service.You will work collaboratively within a supportive team environment covering all aspects of recruitment, pay & conditions.
This role offers flexible working which includes: - Part time working hours (up to 25 hours, work pattern and days negotiable) to suit a work life balance and a blended approach to working from home and office based once a week and as and when required for meetings etc
What you'll need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you should have a generalist HR background with a preferred specialist knowledge in recruitment, pay & conditions. Strong knowledge of local government policies, procedures, and conditions of service would be beneficial.You must have a demonstrable experience in resourcing, recruitment and Pay and Conditions in a local authority or other complex organisation including providing advice on relevant employment matters. Demonstrable knowledge of recruitment, pay and condition policies and procedures that the HR function operates is essential for this role.
To be considered for this role, you should be working towards or have completed year 3 (electives) CIPD or equivalent in-depth knowledge and experience within an HR environment.
You will need to demonstrate and work to the Council’s Values and Behaviours.
