Writer/Community Manager
This is a Sunday - Thursday position
Who We Are
We Are Social is a global socially-led creative agency with unrivalled social media expertise. With 1,300 people in 19 offices spanning four continents, we deliver a global perspective to our clients in a time when social media is shaping culture.
We’re proud to be a multi award-winning agency, with Cannes Lions, One Show, Webby and Shorty Awards, to name but a few. Our most recent work has seen us help Pepsi, Meta and Adidas deliver some of their biggest and most innovative campaigns to date, from breaking into the metaverse to smashing records on TikTok.
As well as creating for clients, we help educate the wider industry. Our Instagram publication The Feed tracks culture at the speed of social. 6,500 people registered or tuned into our events last year, and our reports garnered more than 20 million views.
The Opportunity
Do you get as excited about online sports culture as you do while glued to a major sporting event?
Can you write to entertain in the feed, amuse in the comments – and do both to nail the right words for a dramatic finish line moment?
Do you want to write about sports on social for global brands, producing creative copy that sings in the moment?
We are looking for a Writer/Community Manager to join an expert team working across some of the world’s biggest brands. You'll be part of a vibrant, collaborative environment, handling sports reactives and the day-to-day community management for multiple brands – becoming a master of the comments sections, forging connections with audiences and identifying proactive opportunities to show up beyond owned channels. You will know how to get communities talking. You live for the memes, know your favourite sports inside-out and truly care about the power of great copy.
Interest in running and athletics is particularly desirable (though not essential), as is a keen eye for fashion – but above all, you must be a general sports lover.
Due to the weekend nature of sport, this role is a Sunday-Thursday position… but you’re probably on your phone then anyway, right?

- Publishing or journalist experience (within sports is preferable but not essential if you can demonstrate your love for sport), with a proven ability to deliver on time and with little to no errors.
- Demonstrable experience of writing social copy flexibly and at speed, showcasing adaptability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
