Data Engineer
Data Engineer - London/Remote - £55,000 - £65,000 DOE
Robert Half are seeking a Data Engineer with robust technical skills to join a leading IT services business in London. The ideal Data Engineer has a knack for designing and developing efficient, scalable data pipelines, and a track record of ensuring data quality and accuracy.
This role would be suitable for a mid level Data Engineer with 3-5 years experience.
Strong Azure and Power BI experience is a must for this role
This role presents the opportunity to work remotely, with occasional travel to London (once/twice p/month)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, and build robust and efficient pipelines for the data ingestion and processing of large datasets from various sources.
- Build and optimize data platforms to provide high reliability and availability for data systems.
- Understanding business requirements to ensure data accessibility and integrity across teams.
- Administer and maintain ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and implement data storage solutions to ensure an efficient data retrieval system.
- Protect data and maintain compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations.
- Assess and solve data-related issues enhancing system performance.
- Document workflows and processes for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Constantly refine and improve data engineering practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in data engineering, database management, or software engineering.
- Expertise in ETL/ELT tools, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory or SSIS.
- Proficiency with Power BI, SQL, database management, and working with APIs and data integration.
- Knowledge of data modelling techniques and best practices along with familiarity with DevOps.
- Certifications in DP-203 Azure Data Engineer, AZ-900 Azure and DP-900 Azure Data Fundamentals is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
