Main duties of the job- Service Transformation: Your expertise will shape our future. Ensure operational policies evolve and align with our service's transformation, fostering innovation at every step.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the services other team managers, ensuring seamless coordination across the entire service.
- Visible Presence: Maintain a professional, accessible presence to provide assistance, guidance, and support to our dedicated staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Clinical Leadership: Take charge of clinical guidance, effectively managing human and budgetary resources, and championing evidence-based practices for a high-impact service.
The Perinatal Mental Health Service is countywide and includes the Perinatal Trauma & Loss Service. This post will primarily be based in Cambridge, however travel and responsibilities across other areas may be required.

To provide operational management and support the clinical leadership across the Perinatal Mental Health Service.
To contribute to, quality improvement and problem solving across the clinical pathways.
Ensure clinical governance arrangements are in place to cover all of the clinical activity.
Ensure that staff are appropriately skilled and trained to deliver the service and to provide supervision.
Ensure satisfactory supervision arrangements are in place for all elements of service delivery.

To adhere to all clinical policies and procedures.
Support and undertake risk formulation and risk management for individual clients and to assist and advise other professions on perinatal aspects of risk assessment, and risk management in line with Trust and inter-agency policies and procedures, including work with clients deemed as vulnerable adults.
To support the structure of clinical supervision in the service of clients with complex perinatal needs, enabling other members of the service to support and direct them to the appropriate place in the care pathway.
Monitor and evaluate the standard of care and take actions to ensure that a high standard of care is maintained.
Identify and be responsive to the diverse cultural, social, and spiritual needs of all patients.
Work flexibly to ensure cover across all teams. To provide clinical interventions and assessments depending on service need.
Person specification
Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria- HCPC or NMC Professionals Registration
- SSSA/Mentor qualification/ ENB 998 or equivalent.
- Evidence of continued personal and professional development.
- Leadership Training
- Teaching/Coaching experience
Experience
Essential criteria- Post registration experience in working with people with mental health needs in the perinatal period.
- Evidence of experience in service evaluation and improvements.
- Experience of collaborative working with, and understanding of the roles of midwifery and health visiting.
- Quality Improvement training and project management experience
- Experience of delivering supervision
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria- Able to demonstrate commitment to high quality care and service provision
- Competent IT skills including word, outlook, excel and power point.
- Ability to manage change and deal with conflict / stressful situations.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively, meeting expected deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience of investigating SI’s/complaints
Knowledge & Understanding
Essential criteria- Experience of leadership and managing teams.
- Specialist knowledge of person-centred care and its application.
- Advanced understanding of the mental health needs of adults during the perinatal period.
- Advanced understanding of the development of infants during the perinatal period, and impact of maternal mental health
- Knowledge of service improvement models and its application.
- Knowledge of leadership theories.
Other
Essential criteria- Ability to foster good interagency working.
- Ability to travel independently.
