An exciting opportunity has become available for a full time Facilities and Logistics Assistant based at Force Headquarters, Sutton Road. This role includes working as part of a team that provides a full range of facilities services including the following: preventative maintenance and minor repairs, office moves, painting and decorating, meeting room set ups, security and escorting, driving, vehicle maintenance, collecting CSI exhibits and general postal duties on a rota basis around the county, cleaning, and front counter reception cover.Please note that this post is focused on the driving responsibilities of the team and in particular, the postal driving duties.
You must be self-motivated with a flexible approach. A simple shift system ensures that the office is staffed during core working hours (0800 to 1700 Monday to Friday), allowing service calls to be actioned in a timely manner therefore maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction.Work will be administered through a variety of channels including bespoke computer programs, and the use of office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Service Manager Horn Bill and Outlook will be part of daily duties.
Experience in a similar role would be an advantageous however, due to the variety of customer calls, no two days are the same. Therefore, a proactive, can-do attitude offering common sense and clear thinking is a must.
The post requires some lifting duties therefore you will need to ensure that you are able to perform these tasks. A general knowledge and an awareness of Health & Safety policies would be desirable however training would be given.
At shortlisting we will be looking for essential evidence of: Experience in practical maintenance and general repairs
Knowledge of Health and Safety and manual handling techniques in the workplace
Evidence of excellent communication skills
Working knowledge of IT and MS office applications.
Flexibility in core working hours and geographical location.
In addition, it would be helpful if you could evidence: Customer service experience
This role is based at the Force Headquarters, Sutton Road. However, you will be working as part of a wider team that provides facilities services county wide, therefore it is essential that you hold a Full UK driving license to enable you to visit your team at different locations and support the wider facilities team when required.
