This is an exciting and fast paced role, positioned at the heart of a dynamic and changing area of DDaT. You will work within a dynamic team across a high paced environment.

Business Change roles within DDaT are aligned to the Project Delivery Profession, for Project Delivery Professionals within Government.

The Senior Business Change Manager role is a key role within the Microsoft 365 Collaboration Tooling team, and one in which you will have the opportunity to develop your skills within the Change Management space. You will be supported by the Microsoft 365 Learning and Adoption Lead and Head of Collaboration to build your skills.

You will work on projects and programmes within End User Compute and Collaboration, in Enterprise Services, drawing on your strong experience of Change Management in large scale projects and programmes to lead on the delivery of Change across the DDaT environment.

You will work with teams to fully manage the end-to-end Change Management lifecycle, leading on Business Change activities, creating required products, and ensuring they are received well and adopted by end users.

You will have strong project management experience, and will work closely with Project Managers to ensure all Change Management aspects of the project are completed in line with best practice and adopted methodologies and approach. You will liaise directly with senior stakeholders, building strong relationships and ensuring their involvement and buy-in.

You will be working as part of the wider Business Change team, providing guidance to more junior members of staff, using your knowledge of best practice Change Management techniques.

Your main day to day responsibilities will be:

  • Leading on Business Change activity, developing service Adoption plans, working with Business Change colleagues to ensure Business Case benefits and outcomes are realised and championing the use of best practice in Business Change across DDaT teams.
  • Supporting Change Managers in preparing and updating the change management elements of the Business Cases.
  • Creating required Business Change and adoption products, working with Engagement colleagues, ensuring that learning products are fit for purpose and iterating to meet the needs of the audience and stakeholders.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and updating the business readiness criteria across your area of responsibility before implementation, supporting the tracking of these to ‘approve/refuse’ go live.
  • Working with Delivery Managers and Business Relationship Managers to contribute to, and maintain communications plans, including Business Change messaging. Providing content for Business Change communications.
  • Creating content and delivering bespoke Microsoft 365 learning sessions for Home Office colleagues, online and in-person.
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluating, reviewing, and continually improving the DDaT (Enterprise Services, Collaboration) Learning and Adoption approach, based on product usage analysis and business feedback to ensure the best use of the Home Office’s Microsoft contract.
  • Providing project colleagues with Change Management support and guidance.
  • Undertaking appropriate training for the role, seeking to constantly improve performance through personal development.

Line Management

Mentoring more junior members of the Business Change community, and taking on line management responsibilities if required.

Working Pattern

Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, compressed hours are available.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required to attend away days. Any costs associated with this travel will be met by the business area.
