Part-time (22.5 hours per week)

At Habs Girls, we’re proud of our longstanding reputation for excellence and ambition. Our students are curious, courageous and determined to make a difference – and we’re equally committed to ensuring they have the guidance, encouragement and opportunity to fulfil their potential beyond school.

We’re now seeking a Head of University Admissions – a highly organised and inspiring individual with a passion for supporting young people as they take their next steps. This is a key role in our Futures team, responsible for leading a comprehensive, ambitious and pupil-centred approach to university applications in the UK and overseas.

Working 22.5 hours per week, you will take ownership of the full application cycle, from designing engaging Higher Education events and tutor programmes, to overseeing UCAS references and guiding pupils through the Clearing process. You’ll also ensure every pupil – and their family – feels informed, prepared and empowered when exploring their options.

Working closely with the Head of Futures, Deputy Head Academic and Assistant Head Sixth Form, you will help shape a culture of aspiration and confidence across the Sixth Form.

This is a role with real impact – one that blends expert guidance with outstanding pastoral care, and strategic oversight with close personal support.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent knowledge of the UCAS process and international university admissions, especially US applications.
  • Brings a collaborative, clear-headed approach to managing deadlines and systems.
  • Is a confident communicator, able to lead events, assemblies and training for staff, pupils and parents.
  • Can write and review compelling references and guide others to do the same.
  • Values a team ethos and can work effectively across departments and both Habs schools.

In return, we offer:

  • A competitive salary, commensurate with the candidate’s experience
  • Private Pension Scheme through Aegon
  • Additional life insurance cover
  • Access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), providing confidential support and advice
  • Financial assistance for obtaining further qualifications
  • Extensive professional development training opportunities
  • Free lunch and refreshments
  • Free onsite parking and access to travel on the schools extensive coach network
  • Free access to state-of-the-art sports facilities including the gym, swimming pool, and fitness classes
  • Wellbeing initiatives and programmes, such as yoga, mindfulness sessions, and health checks
  • Access to an online GP service, providing quick and convenient healthcare advice
  • Access to Vivup, the staff benefits platform, featuring discounts, financial advice, and wellbeing resources
  • Cycle-to-Work Scheme and other green travel incentives including Octopus Electric Vehicles

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in the next chapter of our students’ journeys. If you share our belief that university guidance should be personal, aspirational and inclusive, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications will be reviewed as they arrive, and we reserve the right to close this vacancy sooner, please apply as soon as possible.

Haberdashers’ Girls' School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
