Hyperspectral Vision Scientist
As a key member of the Research and Development (R&D) team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our computer vision capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, working across the entire spectrum of our products.
You will be responsible for developing and refining computer vision techniques tailored to our unique spatial spectral datasets.
Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the application layer of current products, while simultaneously helping define and influence the specifications for future innovations.
This role will require onsite presence due to the nature of the role with some flexibility as and when business requirements allow.
This role is ideally suited to someone with a keen interest in developing their career in software engineering. We will provide support and mentoring to help you.
Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and refine computer vision algorithms to work with complex spatial spectral datasets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the performance and capabilities of our existing products, while also contributing to the design and development of next-generation solutions.
Engage in hands-on problem solving, experimenting with our current products to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Work closely with datasets captured by other teams within the company, devising and conducting experiments to test new or modified algorithmic implementations.
Contribute to continuous R&D efforts, helping shape the evolution of our product suite.
Reporting progress, results and advising on next steps
Requirements
Essential Requirements- Minimum of a masters level qualification in a technical subject.
- Analytical can understand the mathematics behind algorithms.
- Ability to write software programmes ideally in Python and C.
- Able to conduct research experiments, run tests and evaluate results scientifically.
- Hands on. Enjoys being in the lab or field working with equipment, taking data to analyse.
- Must be within commuting distance of the office
- Technical experience with computer vision and familiarity with image processing algorithm’s, and the ability to understand how to adapt them to different circumstances.
- Familiarity with how Cameras work i.e exposure
- Know your way around UNIX based operating systems
- Be comfortable with some ambiguity and fast-paced change of requirements
- Exposure to software development in a collaborative environment i.e Git
- Experience with Machine learning techniques and tools.

- The role is hybrid. Ideally, you will be based within commuting distance of our HQ in Milton Park, Oxfordshire.
