Shevington High School is a successful and popular 11-16 community school seeking to appoint a Teacher of History on a 1 Year fixed term contract. The post offers a fantastic opportunity for an NQT or an experienced teacher. The successful candidate will work within our highly successful History Department. History is a very popular subject at Shevington High School with almost 70% of Key Stage 4 Students choosing to study the subject at GCSE level. It is essential that the successful candidate has a wide knowledge and experience in teaching History at KS4 and KS3.
The successful applicant may also need to deliver some Key Stage 3 Religious Studies, or Core RS lessons. All the lessons in both subjects are fully planned and resourced with a comprehensive scheme of work, lesson slides which can be adapted for specific classes and lesson resources such as knowledge organisers.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to develop their teaching practice as we continue to work collaboratively to meet the needs of all our learners.

This is an exciting time for the successful candidate to join Shevington High School. The History department is located in a suite of classrooms where the team can work collaboratively. The successful candidate would be expected to play a vital role in providing opportunities for our learners to develop their knowledge and passion for History.

This will include planning and delivering high quality lessons, facilitating and supporting trips and taking advantage of extra-curricular opportunities that both support and enrich the lives of our students here at Shevington.

The school non-negotiables have been at the forefront of our development in recent years. All History lessons have fully implemented each of the elements and we would expect the successful candidate to show a knowledge of these in their interview lesson as well relevant pedagogical understanding in their interview.
