About the Role:As the External Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in promoting our organisation's achievements and initiatives. Your creativity and strategic thinking will help enhance our reputation and strengthen our presence in the educational landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Digital Content and Communications to implement the Digital Content and Communications Strategy.
- Develop and write captivating corporate and faculty news stories, including research-focused articles.
- Manage media distribution and monitoring tools, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders to generate positive news stories.
- Produce engaging content for various platforms, including social media, press releases, and newsletters.
- Support internal communication efforts, contributing to staff and student newsletters.
- Facilitate media requests, interviews, and visits, ensuring staff and students are prepared.
- Organise photo shoots and filming opportunities for press and events.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: Proven track record in PR, communications, or journalism with strong external networking skills.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling. Proficient in IT, including MS Office and content management systems.
- Attributes: Enthusiastic, proactive team player who thrives under tight deadlines and possesses excellent presentation skills.
