Are you a qualified in psychology and seeking a new challenge in a challenging yet interesting & rewarding field?
We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the Oxfordshire Adult Community Eating Disorder (ACED) team based in Oxford. Over the past few years the service has been through significant transformation, this included a skill mix review and successful recruitment, developing our internal pathways and working with our system partners to develop the Eating Disorder Pathways across primary and secondary care.We are passionate about continuing to imbed and build on these developments.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will be assessment and formulation, and to deliver high quality NICE concordant psychological treatment (both on a 1:1 and in group format) to patients and their carers/families who are referred to the eating disorder service.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- To provide specialist assessments, including CBT assessments of clients referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care.
- To plan and implement formal CBT treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health problems, based upon the client’s problems, and employing methods of proven efficacy.
- To implement appropriate CBT interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
- To be responsible and accountable for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by CBT based standard care plans.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- • Doctoral level training in clinical/ counselling psychology or Masters/Diploma in CBT with a core qualification in a field of mental health, including psychiatric nursing, social work, or occupational therapy.
- • Registration with HCPC or equivalent
- Pre-qualification training and qualifications or experience in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology
- BABCP accreditation OR Willingness to work towards accreditation with accrediting body such as BABCP, SfDBT or ACAT.

Essential criteria- Knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies for clients with severe and complex mental health problems
- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical, and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and professional
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
- Good organisational and time management skills, ability to plan and prioritise own workload
- Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of complex multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings
- • Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
- • Knowledge of evidence models of treatment for Eating Disorders(MANTRA/CBT- ED/CBT-E/SSCM/CBT-T)
- • Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology and psychotherapy.

Essential criteria- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, day services and inpatient settings
- Demonstrate experience in providing CBT as a therapy
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and threat of physical abuse.
- Experience of working within a multicultural framework.
- Experience of running/co-running groups.
- Experience of working with people with an eating disorder presentation
