Section Engineer - Nights
Job IntroductionThere is a requirement to recruit a Section Engineer to support with the Possession works at HROC and management of Severfield completing weld testing and a search for a defect on the bridge beams This is a day shift role at first but when night time possession works start then the section Engineer will need to run these This role will report directly into the construction manager Main ResponsibilitiesSection Engineer is required to aid with all pre paperwork possession planning Local Council road closure requirements and quality records regarding the works Severfield are conducting on HROC bridge beams Ive listed critical items recruit will be responsible for Immediately
- Liaison with the sub contractor severfield and manage the Butt Weld testing and then the search for a defect on HROC bridge beams
- Liase with sub contractor SWT LTD (Structural Weld Testing Services Ltd ) who are employed by SCS as a third party expert
- Manage all future night works for HROC (steel girder weld testing)
- Point of contact for Severfield and SWT
- Collate QA packs from Severfield and ensure all documentation is in place
- Liaison with Traffic Management crews for install of night closure on Harvil Road
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HNC in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
- Understanding of Engineering Principles
- Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
- Computer competence (MS Word Excel Document control system)
- Relevant CSCS Card
- Training in Health Safety and Environmental management
- Presentation Skills Training (as they deliver inductions briefings etc)
- PTS card
- Network Rail Interface experience
Desirable Weld testing experience or experience with steel girders for bridges
