We are looking for a hard working, organised individual, who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and use initiative. Outpatient Clinic knowledge is essential due to nature of the role.
You must be a team player and be able to work under pressure with a great 'can do' attitude.
Main duties of the job
The post holder takes the lead role in managing the outpatient waiting lists and will also be responsible for managing and supervising booking clerks and registration clerks.
You must have the ability to plan and coordinate outpatient clinics and you will be required to work in close liaison with senior managers, consultants, patients and the general public.
Main duties of the role:
- To manage a team of Booking Clerks and advise of each speciality when required
- To have a good understanding and overview of the RTT values and prevent Long waiters
- Attend weekly meetings in regards to Outpatient clinic performance
- Ensure the Team are fully utilising all clinic slots
- Manage the patient phoneline and performance of call answer times
- Abide by the patient access policy when booking and advising colleagues and patients.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Good education (to GCSE level or equivalent)
- Good level of written & spoken English
- NVQ 2 in customer services or administration or equivalent.
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria- Outpatient Scheduling experience
- Working with General Public
- Administration or reception experience
- Waiting list experience
- Experience of PAS
- Experience of ERS
- Knowledge of PTL (patient target Lists)
- Experience in supervising staff
- Change management skills
Skills
Essential criteria- Computer literate and has appropriate keyboard skills
- Customer care skills.
- Appraisal skills.
- Experience in staff training
- Microsoft Office Packages
