Job overview
We are looking to recruit a new receptionist to join our friendly team at Creswell and Langwith Medical Centre.
As you will be the first point of contact at the practice dealing with telephone calls, patients and visitors it is important you always present in a polite and friendly manner. You will need to be a team player, well organised with great communication skills and able to work under pressure.The workload can be challenging and varied. Therefore, having the right skills and attributes is extremely important to our practice team and our organisation.
We are looking for someone who has- Experience in reception/customer service [ office-based environment]
- Excellent communication Skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel/ Word
- Flexible approach to working pattern
- A full driving licence
Main duties of the job
Dealing with all general enquiries, making new and follow-up appointments,Booking home visits and telephone consultations ensuring appointments are booked with the appropriate clinician
Receive and make telephone calls as required. Diverting calls and taking messages, ensuring accuracy of detail.
Inputting patient information on to the computer system as required.
Opening/Closing the Surgery in accordance with Practice protocols
Maintaining and actioning both electronic and paper documentation.
Processing prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines.
Photocopying and scanning as required.
Keeping the reception area, noticeboards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
Flexibility to work additional hours to cover unplanned absence is essential.
This is a brief overview of the role, the list is not exhaustive and other reasonable tasks maybe added by management as and when required
Working for our organisation
Creswell and Langwith Medical Centre is part of Derbyshire Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are a welcoming & busy practice with 5500 patients.
We have an established team of 7 General Practitioners, along with supporting healthcare professionals including ACP, Care Coordinator, Nursing team and an administration team.
