We are looking for an experienced,enthusiastic and highly motivated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to take on this exciting opportunity to work in the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service within our special schools team.
We welcome applications from experienced therapists who have a recognised Speech and Language therapy qualification, HCPC licence to practice and RCSLT registration. Although dysphagia training is not an essential criteria to apply for this role, dysphagia experience and interest is welcomed.
The successful applicant will be confident to work independently, have proven team working and communication skills, alongside knowledge of working with children with complex needs.
If successful, you will join our dedicated team of Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants working collaboratively, with a range of professionals. You will be working with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties within the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service.
You will need to be able to assess children using a range of materials and provide intervention to support the child's speech, language and communication needs as well as advise on provision within their Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
You will therefore need to demonstrate good communication, interpersonal, organisational, time management and prioritisation skills.

You will work as an autonomous practitioner as part of the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service, delivering a service to children and young people with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs.
Assessing, differentially diagnosing and treating a specified caseload of children with speech, language and communication impairments some of whom will be from a variety of ethnic and social backgrounds. This may include working with interpreters to assess all languages which children are exposed to.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing advice for the EHCP review process.
Liaising with, and training other health, education and social service professionals; and to work in partnership with parents/carers and external agencies to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.
