Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Older Adult service at Woodland Hospital (Salford). We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Speech and Language Therapist keen to further develop their skills in supporting patients’ mental and physical health.This varied and rewarding role will require you to have highly specialist skills and the ability to work autonomously with patients who have acquired communication and swallowing difficulties.
The successful applicant will be joining a multi-professional inpatient team, working with Older Adults in mental health. They will also have links with our supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists, who work across different areas of the trust.The successful applicant would have access to regular meetings and CPD opportunities, with other speech therapists, who arealso fully committed to providing the best quality service to this patient group. Regular clinical and managerial supervision are provided and the postholder will be supported by experienced Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and the MDT team.

To effectively examine and assess patients, identify theirproblems, and needs and ensure that patients' medical, cognitive, psychological, social, environmental, and cultural
factors are taken into account including those with diverse or
complex presentations/multi-pathologies.
- To utilise examination and assessment findings to competently
from a range of therapeutic options appropriate to each patient, using evidence-based practice.

- To take responsibility for devising highly specialist programmes
