Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for ensuring operational excellence in healthcare? As a Neurosciences Administration Supervisor, the role is vital in supporting the directorate in delivering high quality patient care at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
This is a varied but pivotal role involving managing the administration Neurophysiology team based at Charing Cross and administration Neurology team at St Mary's Hospital. It is important the candidate is has efficient time management skills.
The role consists of ensuring Neurophysiology clinic templates are set up to ensure the administration team are able to book patient appointments in accordance with Trust Policy, to the management of the St Mary's Hot Clinics are booked to ensure patients receive their treatment in a timely manner.This is a new role and provides an opportunity for the candidate to form the nature of the role.
This post requires the post holder to be on-site.
Main duties of the job- This is a split role between Neurophysiology and Neurology services which reside under the Stroke and Neurosciences Directorate. The role is to provide administrative and supervisory support in Neurophysiology (four days) and Neurology (one day).
- This will require flexibility between the sites i.e. three days Neurophysiology and two days Neurology, depending on the needs of the service. Successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide range of NHS staff, patients and external agencies
- The post-holder will be responsible for the purchasing of stationery order for office equipment and ensure stock levels are maintained and accepting office deliveries and appropriately signing for stocks of drinking water or stationery items/office supplies.
- The position will have day to day management of administration staff and any temporary staff, which will include maintaining accurate records of annual leave, study leave and sickness of secretarial and administrative staff.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification or experience
- Formal Customer Care Training or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria- Previous NHS experience required
- Knowledge of hospital Patient Administration System (PAS)
- Previous experience of dealing with patients appointment and booking system
- Experience of having working relationships with clinicians, GPs, managers, consultants and other clinical staff.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities
Essential criteria- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good telephone manner
- Good keyboard and IT skills – proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook)
