Assist the Radiographer with cleaning and IPC (Infection Prevention and Control Attend to the needs of the patient, ensuring their comfort and dignity. To support with patient data collation to improve patient experience, care and enhance outcomes.
To take relevant patient information prior to their appointment such as height and weight. To support with Phlebotomy for DEXA patients. Ensure that the necessary documentation accompanies the patient. Use of the DEXA Information Systems to record patient information.
Assist the Radiographer with the manual handling of patients. To act as chaperone for some examinations. To assist Radiographer in the imaging room. Liaise with relevant staff/nurses/Consultants. Escort patients within the DEXA department. To assist with the moving of beds and wheelchairs and assisting the patient onto the imaging table.
To ensure the continuous flow of patients through the DEXA rooms. To reassure the patient and provide basic information. To ensure the relevant documentation follows the patient. To maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the examination room.
To maintain patient confidentiality at all times. To comply with Health and Safety rules, the local rules for the protection of persons against ionising radiation, and the agreed policies and procedures of the Trust. To be able to use the EPR (Electronic Patient Record) hospital computer system as well as any DEXA related systems.
