Job Summary:
FreedX is seeking a skilled and proactive Head Finance Risk Management (FRM) to join our start-up cryptocurrency exchange. The FRM will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing market, credit and financial risks associated with our trading activities and overall financial position.This role requires a deep understanding of cryptocurrency markets, financial risk management principles, and a hands-on approach to implementing risk control measures in a dynamic start-up environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular market and financial risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Risk Modeling: Develop and maintain quantitative risk models to measure and monitor market and financial risks.
- Trading Risk Management: Oversee risk management processes for trading activities, including position limits and stop-loss mechanisms.
- Liquidity Risk Management: Monitor and manage liquidity risk, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet operational needs and customer withdrawals.
- Market Analysis: Perform in-depth market analysis to identify trends and potential risks in the cryptocurrency markets.
- Risk Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports to the CRO and other stakeholders.
- Stress Testing: Conduct stress tests and scenario analyses to assess the impact of extreme market conditions on the company's financial position.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified market and financial risks.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in market or financial risk management, preferably in the cryptocurrency or financial services industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc in Financial Engineering) or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) are a plus.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in risk management software and financial modeling tools.
- Excellent understanding of cryptocurrency markets and trading mechanisms.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and risk management best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
