Duties as a Primary School Teacher:
- Deliver Outstanding Lessons: Plan and teach engaging lessons that cater to the varying needs and abilities of students.
- Create an Inclusive Learning Environment: Ensure that every child is supported in their learning journey and make adaptations for students with additional needs.
- Assess & Track Student Progress: Regularly assess students' progress, providing timely feedback and setting targets for further development.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, calm, and respectful classroom atmosphere, promoting good behavior and encouraging students to take responsibility for their learning.
- Foster Student Development: Promote the social, emotional, and academic growth of every student in your class, building their confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other teachers and staff to plan curriculum delivery, share best practices, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate with Parents: Maintain regular communication with parents about student progress, welfare, and achievements.
Requirements of a Primary School Teacher:
- Educational Requirements: A degree in Education or a related subject, and a recognised teaching qualification (QTS).
- Experience: Experience teaching primary-aged children is preferred but not essential for newly qualified teachers with the right enthusiasm and commitment.
- Subject Knowledge: A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and how to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons.
- Passion for Teaching: A genuine passion for inspiring and supporting children in their learning journey.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Organisational Skills: Strong time-management and planning abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- DBS Check: A current DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required.
