We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming team at a great school in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to make a real impact in Key Stage 2.

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for their final year of primary school, building their confidence, knowledge, and independence. You will create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive and reach their full potential.

This role begins April 2025.

Year 5 Teacher Duties:

  • Planning and delivering exciting and challenging lessons in line with the KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Developing pupils’ skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking.
  • Preparing pupils for their transition to Year 6 and SATs.
  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupils’ progress and attainment.
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Using a range of teaching strategies to support all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Taking part in staff meetings, CPD opportunities, and school activities.

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5 (desirable but not essential for ECTs).
  • A passion for engaging and inspiring young learners.
  • Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills as a Year 5 Teacher.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
