ICT Deployment Engineer

This is a Permanent deployment support post within a close-knit team providing IT support to the Trust’s clients and their IT equipment. Which reside on the network or as standalone devices. This includes installation, fault diagnosis and rectification, and administration of associated processes.
The deployment team is a close knit team of nine working towards providing the best customer experience we can whilst supporting each other in our daily endeavours
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job
Operating within a close-knit team the IM&T Deployment Engineers play an important role in ensuring effective deployment of IT equipment in support of the Trusts Digital strategy. Engineers deploy assets in support of the rolling replacement programme, digital projects, and business as usual requests, these assets are used by end users in clinical and operational settings.You will be involved in full cycle logistic and request processes from provisioning IT kit, deployment, configuration through to managing disposal processes. Deployment Engineers also get involved with fault diagnosis, rectification and administration.
The role requires great customer service skills and an ability to update and modify records accurately. The Deployment team are a vital cog within the wide IM&T service and development of the digital agenda would be impossible without their support.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
General- Administrative levels of access required to perform the tasks listed below will inevitably give technicians possible oversight of sensitive staff and patient information and a good level of discretion will be required.
- IM&T Deployment Engineer will take responsibility for care of such data and ensure that its integrity is protected during call handling/fault rectification process.
- IM&T Deployment Engineer must, always, ensure that the relevant policies are adhered to by others and report any breaches/abuse to higher management.
- IM&T Deployment Engineer must have the ability to resolve technical problems of varying complexity within appropriate guidelines and support.
- IM&T Deployment Engineer will offer support and training where needed whilst installing new equipment
- Receipt of IT/Telephony Equipment and asset management
- Preparation/configuration of IT/Telephony Equipment and installation of additional software requirements
- Deployment of IT/Telephony Equipment
- A good understanding of manual handling as equipment will need to be frequently moved both manually and mechanically
- Upgrade of IT/Telephony Equipment
- Disposal of IT/Telephony Equipment
- Logging/Maintaining/Completing Warranty Calls
- Logging/Maintaining/Completing Maintenance Calls
- Assisting in the development of relevant processes for the team
- Facilitating the survey, overseeing the installation of network data sockets and quality checks
- Creation of documentation and technical drawings for network surveys
- Liaising with the projects team and other IM&T departments to ensure the successful completion of works within deadline parameters
All equipment needs to be dealt with through “lifetime” management and maintenance of associated asset records and user accounts.
This will include installation of telephony equipment and organising associated cabling and structure requirements.
This post will involve physical handling of PC’s and peripherals during delivery, installation and/or disposal processes.
Maintaining accurate records of all assets.

Person specification
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria- • Proven knowledge and demonstrable experience of Computer hardware and software, including Windows 10, IOS, Android Operating systems, IP telephone systems, Printers, unified communications, video conferencing and messaging systems.
- • Excellent PC skills and demonstrable experience, especially with Microsoft office suite.
- • Able to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions
- To be able to plan and implement IT projects in conjunction with IT and non-IT staff.
Qualifications
Essential criteria- • GCSE’s 9-4 (A-C) in Maths & English
- • NVQ Level 3 in IT related subject or equivalent demonstrable experience
- • Proven holder of (or working towards) a qualification in IT related field
Aptitude & Abilities
Essential criteria- • Good communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels
- • Attention to detail and accuracy
- • Willingness to attend and contribute to meetings with IM&T and wider Trust stakeholders.
