To provide a full and comprehensive medical secretarial and personal assistant role for the Community Mental Health Medical and Psychology teams within Bolton Division, to manage and coordinate a team of medical administrators and administrators, ensuring the most efficient and effective use of resources.

The post holder will have line management and supervisory responsibility for the medical administrators / administrators and support staff.

You will be responsible for the coordination of the validation of all reports coming into the service in regard to data quality and data completeness. You will be responsible for the assurance of meeting all local and national targets.

You will be a well organised and experienced with knowledge of medical terminology. You will ensure all consultants and clinicians within your area of responsibility are organised and equipped to fulfil their responsibilities. Appropriate electronic systems will be maintained, along with coordinating their clinical activities.

Main duties of the job

Undertake audio and clerical duties for your consultants, including minute taking as required, clinical letters, reports, discharge correspondence and clinical activity data inputting. This may include administrative support relating to consultant tutorial work.

Provide first point of contact for written and telephone enquiries on behalf of your consultant, using judgement to establish validity and priority of the contact.

Administrative support on behalf of the medical staffing team

Personal Assistant support for the Psychology Lead.

Administrative support to the team(s) within your area.

To robustly line manage and appraise your administration and support staff.

To adhere to policies and procedures in line with managing of staff members.
