Product Compliance Specialist, Global Solutions and Risk Compliance (GSRC) operates in a virtual, global e-commerce environment without boundaries, and operates a diverse set of businesses in fourteen countries, including Retail, third-party marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, and web services for developers.As a member of the Amazon Compliance Operation team, we are responsible for classifying ASINs in our catalog to ensure they can be safely stored in Fulfillment Centers and shipped to customers while complying with all local laws and regulations.
We also prevent the sale of items that Amazon chooses not to sell or are prohibited by law or regulations. In global trade and direct import areas, we are accountable for import tariff classification and ensuring imported products have undergone proper testing for safety and operability.The team you will work with is responsible for ensuring that Amazon Private Brand products are tested in certified laboratories, comply with legal requirements of the target marketplace, and conducting post-launch audits of Private Brand Products following product compliance requirements.
Key job responsibilities Be the Compliance Operation focal point for worldwide projects including new system launches, onboarding new tasks, and Kaizen activities.Ensure that good ideas are consistently implemented across all tasks to improve efficiency and standardize process workflows to meet KPI goals.Understand the business and identify potential areas of improvement from a technical or regulatory risk perspective.Facilitate communication between vendors and stakeholders to provide timely and correct support.Maintain vendor management process documentation and training.Handle compliance crises or escalations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor/s degree with lab experience or knowledge of product safety regulations.Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high ambiguity.Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) and experience working with vendors, clients, or customers, including stakeholder meetings.6+ years of lab experience in technical positions.Strong chemical domain knowledge or general Hardline product knowledge, understanding NA/EU regulations and product testing requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with regulations of consumer goods, especially electronic products, furniture, toys, cosmetics, and medical products in EU and North American markets, or sustainability certifications like ISO14001, GRC, ISCC, RSPO, FSC.Experience in retail, operations, or business management with a proven track record of results.Experience or skills in project management or process excellence.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
