Sterile Service Assistant Theatres | London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust
The post holder will possess a basic computer skills, GCSE Grade C in English, and Maths. NVQ Level 1-3. Previous experience in SSD’s or Operating Theatres desirable.
The post holder will be expected to assist in provision of sterile services to Theatres. give support to Theatre Staff within the Operating Theatre
To be responsible for the day-to-day management of CMH Theatres instruments being transferred between the hospitals.
Scanning of instrument from IHHS trolley to instrument storage CMH theatres.
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Clinical Theatre Manager, The Trust Theatre Equipment Lead and Clinical Teams to ensure smooth and efficient running of theatres.
The post holder is responsible for the repair and refurbishment of theatre instrument and reporting faulty equipment to EBME. You will also assist the Loan instrument lead coordinator in the maintenance of an equipment register for all medical and surgical equipment within the department.
Record and action all non-conformance and negotiate any dispute.
You will also be responsible to book and check surgical loan / hired/ borrowed from companies or other hospitals; arrange transportation and returns/ collection and maintain an accurate record.

- Assists and negotiates with consultant, surgeons, and theatre staff regarding supplies ensuring that appropriate stock and items are ordered in a timely manner in line with the department’s budget.
- Liaises with EBME and other companies regarding repairs and replacement in line with current safety standards.
Provides support to the Loan and Instrument Coordinator with invoice queries with suppliers which maybe contentious due to discrepancies and/or delays in payment
