The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview

Previous experience of the NHS is desirable but not essential; above all you must be comfortable working with numbers and people, a logical and analytical thinker, and highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products. Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced professional to undertake the role of Senior Information Analyst within our Analysis team. The team are aligned to the key areas set within the Welsh Government’s ‘Six Goals for Urgent and Emergency Care’ policy framework.The priorities from the framework covers standards such as signposting people urgent care needs to the right place, first time (SICAT, Urgent Primary Care Centres, 111) to clinically safe alternatives to admission to hospital (MIU, Same Day Emergency Care) and care closer to home (MFD, home first/D2RA and LoS).
You will work closely with the Emergency Departments and operational services across the organisation to provide analytical support on ambulance, Emergency Department and emergency admissions data. Further responsibilities include undertaking analysis of the organisational performance, creating trajectories and developing dashboards to support the delivery of safe patient care.Through the use by rolling out and supporting the use of power BI across the health board, which also supports the wider departmental objectives and direction of travel.
You will have significant autonomy to act and be expected to develop plans that can help drive change throughout the organisation, working across departmental boundaries to influence change positively, and gaining buy-in from operational services so that they appropriately own their business processes.

Essential criteria- Educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria- In-depth specialist knowledge of a range of statistical and analytical techniques. Eg. SPC, ANOVA, Standard Error, Regression Analysis.
Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive experience in an analytical role across a full range of information areas.
Skills
Essential criteria- Advanced analytical skills, resolving highly complex information queries.
