Working within the Manchester locality you will support the delivery of the Information Governance Framework; ensuring that the NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care meets its statutory and legal obligations in relation to Information Governance (IG).
The post holder will support the Information Governance Manager (Manchester) in their work as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) service for the locality’s GP Practices.
Provide administrative support to the Information Governance Service Delivery Team.
Main duties of the job
Support the delivery of the Information Governance Framework; ensuring that the NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care meets its statutory and legal obligations in relation to Information Governance (IG).
Build effective working relationships with staff working within the Manchester Locality and the NHS GM Information Governance Team, and to provide support where areas for improvement have been identified.
Support the Manchester IG Manager to achieve compliance with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and legislative Acts relating to information requests including Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests.
The post holder will also support the IG Manager (Manchester) in their work as the lead for the DPO Service for the locality’s GP Practices.
Provide administrative support to Information Governance Service Delivery Team Lead.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide advice and support in relation to IG matters, to staff at all levels, escalating should senior intervention be more appropriate. For example, assist with the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessment.
Receive and respond to information governance queries from GP Practices, NHS GM staff and patients, escalating should senior intervention be more appropriate.
Provide draft reports in relation to IG activity and standards, including complex analysis and triangulation of results from incidents, concerns, complaints, and claims.
Contribute to the development and review of guidance documents, training materials and briefing papers e.g., IG updates to Information Sharing and Advisory Group,Work with Information Asset Owners to collate and manage the localities Information Asset Register and Data Flow Maps.
Ability to identify, manage, resolve or where necessary escalate IG risks and issues using skills and knowledge to ensure that the appropriate action is taken to mitigate them where possible.
Provide advice in relation to Subject Access Requests and to Freedom of Information Requests.
Support the administration process for investigating any breaches of confidentiality, and any other IG incidents and investigations, as required.
Liaise with members of the GM Information Sharing and Advisory Group to collate agenda items, record formal minutes and keep an up-to-date action log.
Post holder is responsible for maintaining an accurate record of the locality’s papers records and managing access to them. Ensure paper records are securely destroyed in accordance with record management policy.
Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Information Governance work plan. This will require the planning and management of a broad range of complex activities tasks including:
- Support the development of a plan to complete the Data Security Protection Toolkit, gathering information and collating evidence within the locality
- Developing and implementing a process to monitor staff compliance mandatory IG training
- Develop and implement a plan to maintain accurate Information Asset Register and Data Flows for the locality
The provision of administrative support for the IG Delivery team, for example scheduling meetings and 1 to 1s.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to HNC/HND, NVQ 4, or equivalent level of relevant experience in Information Governance Evidence of continued personal and professional development
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working in the field of Data Protection
- Experience of working in the NHS, or a public sector environment
