We are looking for a dedicated Outreach Learning Support Worker to join our team, working with primary-aged students in Plymouth.

This role involves traveling to various locations, so applicants must have a valid driver’s license and business insurance.

About the Role:

As an Outreach Learning Support Worker, you will provide essential support to students with additional needs, often working in off-site or community-based environments. This role requires flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to helping children overcome barriers to learning, social interaction, and independence.

You will work alongside teaching staff, therapists, and family members to create an encouraging, inclusive learning environment for every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to children with SEN, adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Travel to various locations (within Plymouth and surrounding areas) to work with students in both home and community settings.
  • Promote social, emotional, and academic development by using engaging activities, routines, and interventions.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and school staff to create a personalized learning plan that addresses each child’s unique goals.
  • Keep detailed progress records and report back on students’ achievements, challenges, and development areas.

Requirements:

  • Experience with SEN: Prior experience working with children with special educational needs is essential.
  • Driver’s License and Business Insurance: Must be able to drive and have business insurance to fulfill outreach duties.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Comfortable working in different locations and environments as needed.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues, as well as manage challenging behavior in a positive and respectful way.
  • Enhanced DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check on the update service is required or a willingness to obtain one.
