Synergy Carers are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker in and around the area of Plymouth (Devon)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, including those in nursing homes and other care settings.
As a waking night support worker you will be tasked with the role to ensure that all the needs are met from the occupants. As a waking night support worker you can work from anywhere between 8pm-8am or a little shorter.
Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
  • Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including those with dementia or other health conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Drive clients to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
Skills
  • Previous experience in a caregiving role within a nursing home or similar environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles and practices, particularly for individuals with dementia or special needs.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
  • First aid certification is highly desirable to ensure immediate response in emergencies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and client needs while maintaining professionalism at all times.
