Role Overview
As the new English Teacher, you’ll be responsible for delivering inspiring and engaging lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 if experienced. You’ll work closely with the department to develop the curriculum, contribute to student assessment, and support the school’s mission to continually improve outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and possibly KS5, depending on experience)
- Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that challenge and engage students of varying abilities
- Track and report on student progress in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with the English department to enhance the curriculum and share best practices
- Build a positive classroom environment that nurtures student confidence and success
- Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and support a positive school culture
Candidate Profile
We’re looking for a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in English or a related field. You should have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, and any experience with KS5 would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will bring a love of literature and language and a genuine desire to make a difference in students’ lives.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in English or a closely related subject
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels
