Portsmouth - Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking a Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our well-regarded Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Dibden, supporting students aged 11-16 with moderate to severe learning, behavioural, and emotional needs. The role involves providing one-to-one or small group support, assisting with lesson delivery, and fostering students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in learning activities
- Assist with the delivery of tailored lessons and individual education plans (IEPs)
- Help manage student behaviour and maintain a positive classroom environment
- Contribute to students' personal, social, and academic development
Person Specification:
- Passion for supporting students with special educational needs
- Experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Proactive, team-oriented approach
- Enhanced DBS check required (at applicant’s cost)
