Description

The Deputy Team Manager for Fostering Support and Supervision plays a crucial role in our commitment to providing exceptional care and mentoring to children in foster homes. This position is designed for an experienced professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and supporting foster families.
You will work closely with the Team Manager to ensure that all fostering services are delivered with the highest standards of quality and compliance with legislative requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fostering team, providing guidance and leadership to social workers while ensuring that they are well-equipped to support their fostering families.
Collaboration with various stakeholders will be vital, as you will be required to build strong relationships with external partners, foster carers, and social services. In this role, you will also be involved in strategic decision-making, policy implementation, and the continuous improvement of our fostering services.

The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the fostering process and the challenges faced by children and foster families, enabling them to develop effective support strategies and interventions. Responsibilities
Assist the Team Manager in overseeing the fostering support and supervision team operations.
Provide supervision and support to social workers in their case management and professional development.
Ensure compliance with child protection and safeguarding policies and legislation.
Coordinate training sessions and workshops for foster carers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Monitor and evaluate the quality of fostering placements and support services provided to families.
Conduct regular reviews and assessments of fostering arrangements to ensure children’s needs are met.

Collaborate with external agencies, stakeholders, and partners to promote continuous improvement in fostering services.

Requirements
Relevant degree in social work or a related field, with a qualification in management preferred.
Proven experience working within fostering or child welfare services.
Strong understanding of legislation and regulations relevant to child protection and fostering.
Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions in a timely manner.

Hours Per Week: 37.00

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £30.38
