Overview:
An opportunity for an experienced tutor to provide in-person Functional Skills English and Maths tuition to a Year 12 student with SEN/SEMH needs. This role is ideal for an educator who understands PDA, ASD, ADHD, and EBSA and can tailor learning to an aspiring footballer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and interactive Functional Skills Level 1 & 2 tuition in Maths and English.
- Adapt teaching methods to incorporate football-related content to enhance engagement and understanding.
- Provide active, autonomous, and conversation-based learning, avoiding traditional lecturing methods.
- Implement movement breaks to support engagement and self-regulation.
- Build a trusting relationship over time, showing commitment and consistency.
- Manage challenging behaviour with patience and understanding, recognising triggers related to ASD and PDA.
- Address learning gaps due to past non-attendance and tailor lessons to the student's needs.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced in supporting SEN/SEMH learners, particularly with PDA, ASD, ADHD, and EBSA.
- Skilled at behaviour management and fostering positive relationships.
- Knowledgeable in Functional Skills English & Maths.
- Football-enthusiastic or able to incorporate sport into teaching.
- Personable, engaging, and patient, with a sense of humour and adaptability.
Additional Information:
- Online tuition is not an option; sessions must be delivered in person.
- Potential to increase hours once rapport is established.
- Long-term, ongoing role.
