WHAT YOU’LL DO- Develop and implement policy and innovation strategies to support clean energy and decarbonisation programmes.
- Build and manage working groups with academic, industry, and RTO stakeholders to inform programme governance and direction.
- Establish trusted relationships with key government departments (e.g., DESNZ, DSIT) and public funders (e.g., Innovate UK).
- Coordinate internal and external partnerships to unlock opportunities in data-driven innovation and emerging technologies for decarbonisation.
- Identify and pursue collaborative R&D opportunities to support clean energy projects and national decarbonisation goals.
- Deliver thought leadership outputs, including research and reports, to position Digital Catapult at the forefront of sustainability and innovation policy.
- Expertise in government engagement and technology innovation policy in energy, decarbonisation, and/or net-zero.
- Proven ability to develop concepts and business cases for national and international innovation policy initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the obstacles facing the adoption of emerging technologies in the energy sector.
- Experience working with public funders such as Innovate UK, UKRI, or government departments like DSIT or DESNZ.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage and build relationships across public, private, and academic sectors.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for leveraging deep tech innovation to address global sustainability challenges.
