Hays are delighted to be supporting a SME Construction related company based in Birmingham city centre who are looking to recruit their first-in-house Finance Manager on a part-time basis. This is a newly created opportunity.
Your new role
This is a hands-on all round role to become the first-in-house accountant. You will support the Directors on a part-time basis for circa 25 hours per week (days as you wish) and be responsible for the full A-Z of accounts. You will oversee the ledgers, produce month-end accounts and WIP estimates alongside monthly management accounts.
You will also oversee a small monthly payroll. The company uses Xero accounting software and excel. Other duties would include construction related returns, job costings and WIP. This role woul dbe ideal for someone looking for an interesting challenge part time and the role could develop as the company grows.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified or qualified by experience candidate looking for a flexible part-time role with flexible working. The ideal candidate will be well presented, articulate and accurate with a strong attention to detail. Previous knowledge of construction or manufacturing would be beneficial.
