Overview:

The EMEA Senior Finance Manager will oversee the day to day running of the accounting and transactional processing teams and lead on delivery of statutory and tax compliance requirements for key countries within EMEA. The role is responsible for ensuring accuracy of the finance data, best in class processes and controls to ensure data accuracy and consistency, whilst maintaining financial compliance.

This is a key people leadership role to ensure engagement, development of the team and to raise technical capability to ensure business continuity. Input to and control of the financial systems is an essential aspect of the role to ensure data integrity.

This role will also be expected to delegate for the Director of Finance and collaborate with the other EMEA Finance Managers as appropriate, especially on team development.

The role will be hybrid, based out of the Huntingdon office (2 days a week in the office). There is an expectation to travel to our Hillcrest location in Belton as well occasionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading on the statutory and period close accounting of the European entities within the Envigo group on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis – specifically taking full ownership of UK and France.
  • Act as a lead
  • alongside the Director of Finance
  • responsible for the effective management of treasury matters, banking and payment settlement for entities within Europe, including:
  • Maintaining oversight of daily bank balance reporting.
  • Approving bank payments and JDE banking details for UK & France, and back up for others
  • Liaison with external banking contacts and online banking as required.
  • Building effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders:
  • Working pro-actively with EMEA operational managers to resolve financial issues and challenges
  • To elicit feedback from internal customers to promote continued improvement of the Finance team
  • Delivering professional support to both internal and external customers and role modelling behaviours for the UK based team.
  • Influence the financial controls across the European entities:
  • Periodically review and update documented finance procedures as required
  • Ensuring appropriate controls and checks are in place to minimise business risk.
  • Use the available systems to ensure accuracy of data to maintain financial compliance, identifying and escalating to management any opportunities to optimise the system.
  • Collaborate with Customer Services to effectively manage the Credit Control process through setting collections targets, reviewing and approving new customers, changes to credit limits and payment terms, ensuring effective management of aged debtors and accounting for any bad debt provision.
  • Responsible for direct and indirect tax reporting for UK and France, including corporate tax returns, VAT, Intrastat and EC sales (where required).
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset across the function to seek out opportunities to improve processes and reduce risks.
  • Act as delegate for, and support to Director of Finance, EMEA, as required.
  • Management of AR, AP and GL, alongside country-specific Finance Manager roles.
  • Management of Tax for UK and France.
  • Leading and co-ordination of statutory reporting and tax filing activities for UK and France.
  • Co-ordinating Group and entity audits activities for UK and France.
  • Oversight and improvement of month end processes, working with other Finance Managers and FP&A
  • EMEA cashflow weekly forecasting inputs, for consolidation and review by Director of Finance

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification required with several years post qualification experience
  • Experience in the effective management of Finance teams
  • Experience of working with external auditors and other third parties
  • Relevant tax reporting and compliance experience for UK

Desirable:

  • Experience of working on provision of financial information compliant with Group reporting US GAAP as well as local GAAP for entities across Europe
  • Experience of working with remote colleagues globally
  • Relevant tax reporting and compliance experience for other European countries.
  • Relevant tax reporting and compliance experience for US.
