About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN/Autism Support Assistant to join our team in Bolton through the SEN team at Teaching Personnel.

This role involves working closely with students, providing tailored support to help them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. You will be working in a supportive and nurturing educational environment, assisting both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated support to students with Autism and other SEN in a school setting.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to cater to specific learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff.
  • Offer encouragement and reassurance to build students’ confidence and independence.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the relevant staff members.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviors effectively and in line with school policies.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN/Autism is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support (preferred but not essential).
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
  • Must be available between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM on designated days.
