Hays Accountancy & Finance are seeking a dedicated and skilled Finance Manager to join our client’s team, who support a wide variety of projects, events, and initiatives across Northern Ireland, with the aim of bringing people and communities together.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and providing efficient and effective financial systems and support.

Your new role
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts in compliance with relevant accounting and government guidance.
  • Liaise with auditors to finalise and agree on the Annual Accounts.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, ensuring all relevant reviews and reconciliations are completed. Provide improvements and ad hoc reports as required.
  • Oversee the processing and approval of financial transactions on the accounting system (Sage 200).
  • Budget and manage current and future cashflows
  • Ensure compliance with financial directions and advise senior management where appropriate.
  • Manage the payroll function, ensuring payroll and pension transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure procurement and tendering activities are in line with purchasing guidelines.
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and ongoing review of financial policies and procedures.
  • Effectively manage and motivate the finance team, ensuring it supports the needs of the organisation.
  • Manage services and facilities contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and legislation.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Fully qualified Chartered Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a finance department, including:
  • Preparation and submission of Annual Report and Accounts for Public Sector audit.
  • Preparation of budgets and finance reports, including variance analysis.
  • Managing a payroll function.
  • Staff management.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in preparing annual accounts for an organisation with a turnover of at least £5m.
