An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Evelina London Children’s Hospital as Assistant General Manager for Evelina London Children's Cardio-Respiratory and Intensive Care Services [CRIC].

Our Directorate consists of acute, elective and surgical services for children including Intensive Care, Cardiology, Cardiac surgery and Respiratory. We deliver care in our specialist children’s hospitals, Evelina London Children’s Hospital and Royal Brompton Children’s Hospital, in the community and in other hospitals across the South Thames Paediatric Network (STPN).

Our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Evelina London Children’s Hospital offers an integrated specialty pediatric intensive care transport service, the South Thames Retrieval Service (STRS), which operates across the South Thames network including King’s College Hospital and St George’s Hospital.

This role is an exciting chance to work closely with the service managers and Directorate Management teams to support services in the delivery of their Business Plans relating to CRIC Services. This includes the integration of services between the Evelina London Children's Hospital site, and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital sites, and the specialist care provided to patients throughout South East England.

This is an exciting time to join the Evelina following the introduction of a new Electronic Health Record system rolled out across Guys and St Thomas’.

The post demands a proactive and creative approach in order to support the services across Evelina London and the Royal Brompton, to ensure the smooth running of both outpatients and inpatient scheduling teams, in a demanding and rewarding atmosphere.

The successful candidate will be adaptable, have excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. The post holder will work closely with the clinical leads and teams across the children's Allied Health Professional teams, centralised Outpatient services and the in-house CRIC admission and surgical scheduling teams.

The post holder must be IT literate and have the ability to navigate trust IT systems as well as monitor key metrics and data trends around emergency and elective activity.

Evelina London is part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trustand we are responsible for providing services for women and children. With over 3,000 dedicated staff, and led by an Executive Team and Board, we have significant devolved autonomy to focus operationally and strategically upon the needs of our patients.

We also benefit from being part of a large and successful NHS foundation trust, whose values we share. We have an ambitious strategic development programme, with backing from Guy’s and St Thomas’.

Every year, the number of children and young people Evelina London cares for, in our hospitals and in the community, continues to grow. We provide comprehensive health services from pre-conception, before birth, throughout childhood and into adult life.

Evelina London is here for children, young people and women from London to South East England, and provides specialist care for families around the UK and across the world.

As the only NHS Trust in London with women’s and specialist children’s services on one site we have unique opportunities to provide excellent, high-quality, integrated care for mothers, babies and children. We operate through five clinical directorates: Children’s Medicine and Neonatology; Children’s Surgery, Theatres and Anaesthesia; Children’s Cardio-respiratory and Intensive Care; Children’s Community Services and Women’s Services.
