We're looking for a Payroll Manager to join us on a 12-month FTC. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll function across our UK operations and overseeing outsourced payroll in the Netherlands and Dubai. The role will involve ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing while playing a key role in migrating our payroll system to HiBob.
This is a critical role in maintaining payroll integrity and improving current processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage UK Payroll: Run the payroll function for the UK, ensuring timely and accurate processing for all employees.
- Oversee Outsourced Payroll: Supervise outsourced payroll processes in the Netherlands and Dubai, ensuring compliance with local regulations and timely reporting.
- System Expertise (Sage 50): Utilise your experience with Sage 50 to manage the payroll process and ensure the integrity of the data.
- Payroll Migration to HiBob: Assist in and drive the payroll migration from Sage 50 to HiBob, ensuring a smooth transition and accurate data migration.
- Process Documentation: Develop and create full process notes for payroll activities, ensuring all steps are documented for future reference.
- Improve Payroll Processes: Analyse and enhance current payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Help implement strong payroll controls across all entities.
- Book Payroll Journals: Post accurate payroll journals into NetSuite, ensuring proper integration with the finance function.
- Handle Payroll Queries: Answer all payroll-related queries, particularly around commission structures, in close liaison with the accounting team.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and coordinate with external providers for the Netherlands and Dubai payrolls to meet local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain Payroll Records: Ensure all payroll records are kept up to date and in accordance with company policy and statutory requirements.
Requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven Payroll Experience: Strong background in managing payroll processes, with experience across multiple geographies being beneficial (particularly UK, Netherlands, and Dubai).
- Strong Excel Skills:Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyse data, use formulas, pivot tables, and create financial models to support payroll processes.
- Sage 50 Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Sage 50 payroll systems is essential.
- Process Improvement: Strong ability to analyse, document, and improve payroll processes, with experience implementing payroll controls.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous with numbers, ensuring absolute accuracy in payroll calculations, tax submissions, and reporting.
- NetSuite Knowledge: Experience posting payroll journals into NetSuite or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and answer payroll-related queries efficiently, especially around complex areas like commissions.
- Timely and Organised: Ability to work under deadlines and process payrolls promptly, ensuring there are no delays or errors in employee payments.
- Compliance Focused: Up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations in the UK, and ideally some familiarity with payroll regulations in other countries
