Housing Officer who is a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail, a can-do attitude and a passion for delivering excellent housing services is required to to join a well-established housing association based in Staines, Surrey.

Previous experience in a similar role within housing, housing association, social care, supported living sectors or with some experience of tenancy schemes would be preferred.

SALARY: £34,285 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Onsite role with a mix of office based in Staines (TW18) and on-estates working
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday

PLEASE NOTE: Full UK driving licence and access to worn vehicle for work use is essential for this role

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Housing Officer who is a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail, a can-do attitude and a passion for delivering excellent housing services.

Working as the dedicated Housing Officer you will help create safe, well-managed communities. In this role, you’ll be responsible for tenancy management, conducting regular estate inspections, carrying out tenancy audits, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

As the Housing Officer you will be responsible for taking swift action to address any tenancy issues, making a real impact on the lives of residents.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Housing Officer will include:

  • Championing Community Well-being – Conduct regular estate inspections and tenancy audits, taking swift action to address any issues and improve the estates
  • Empowering Residents – Manage tenancies with care and professionalism, ensuring policies and procedures are followed while always putting residents first
  • Being a Trusted Problem-Solver – Act as the go-to person for residents’ concerns, investigating complaints, and providing expert advice and guidance
  • Keeping Things on Track – Maintain accurate records and ensure the IT systems are regularly updated for seamless tenancy management
  • Building Strong Partnerships – Work closely with internal teams, local authorities, and external partners to provide the best support for residents
  • Representing the organisation with Pride – Attend court hearings, external meetings, case conferences, and forums, ensuring the residents receive fair and just outcomes
  • Delivering Results – Meet key performance targets and tenancy management objectives that enhance the lives of those they serve
  • Putting Residents First – Resolve customer queries quickly and effectively, liaising with operational teams, third-party providers, and community stakeholders
  • Supporting Vulnerable Residents – Work with tenants who need extra assistance and connect them with the right support services to help them thrive
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A*- C)
  • Full UK Driving License and access to own vehicle for work use
  • Experience of problem solving for customers and understanding customer needs
  • Previous experience in housing is desirable
  • Intermediate level of IT Knowledge including Outlook, Word and Excel
