Polwhele House School is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Music & Drama Teacher to join our dedicated team from September 2025. The successful candidate will have the privilege of working with talented young performers, including pupils on our Performing Arts Scholarship, who receive specialist training in music, drama, and dance.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a creative and skilled practitioner to lead and deliver engaging music and drama lessons across a range of age groups and abilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of their subjects, be passionate about developing pupils’ performance skills, and actively contribute to the school’s rich performing arts provision.

This is a highly rewarding role for an individual who is ready to shape the future of our young performers and work within a collaborative and supportive community.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music and drama lessons to pupils across age ranges.
  • Teach specific instruments and/or vocal skills to individuals and small groups.
  • Prepare pupils for internal and external performances and examinations.
  • Foster a love for the performing arts through inspirational teaching and inclusive practices.
  • Contribute to the school’s programme of concerts, theatre productions, and showcases.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents to support pupil progress.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognised teaching qualification (QTS preferred).
  • A strong academic or professional background in music and/or drama.
  • Experience in teaching IGCSE Music and/or IGCSE Drama is highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of music and drama across a range of styles and traditions.
