SEND Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:- Good working knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
- Work with SEND children of mixed abilities and needs
- Supporting students with SEND on an individual and within a group environment
- Providing personal care support if/when required
- Assist in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual needs
- Develop & support with social, emotional & academic needs
- Supporting teachings with implementing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Follow school policies and procedures with regards to safeguarding and behaviour
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents and liaise with all to maintain clear communication
- Showing initiative and asking for direction if needed
- Relevant qualifications or SEND Teaching Assistant experience in the classroom (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in childcare)
- UK experience supporting children with SEND
- Compassion, patience, empathy, and the ability to work proactively with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS
