Summary of responsibilities: To be a pharmacy clinical specialist in haematology. To provide support to the haematology service and pharmacy Technical Services. To support the clinical pharmacy team in the management and development of specialist clinical services related to haematology in accordance with local and national directives, guidelines and medicines legislation.
To work closely with clinical specialists and pharmacy staff for the provision of an efficient, co-ordinated and robust pharmaceutical service for clinical haematology. To meet expectation and demands, reduce risks and improve patient safety.
To participate in the provision of training, mentoring and supervision of pharmacy staff within clinical haematology and Technical Services, in accordance with established policies, procedures and individual requirements. To act as an Authorised Pharmacist, as delegated by the Accountable Pharmacist in accordance with Section 10 exemption of the Medicines Act 1968.
To provide support to ensure that the Technical Services facilities is compliant with all aspects of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and all other relevant quality standards. To assist with the build and maintenance of the electronic chemotherapy prescribing system (ChemoCare).
